What is Varicocele?
Varicocele is when the veins in the scrotum become abnormally large and start to cause discomfort. It is basically caused because the blood is not flowing smoothly upwards and thus starts to accumulate in the scrotum. This may cause pain in the scrotum.
Varicocele may be Unilateral (on one side) or Bi lateral (on both sides) of the scrotum.
How to Diagnose Varicocele?
Usually if you experience pain in the scrotum and can see visible veins then you should get an Abdominal Ultrasound or a Color doppler test done. Sometimes patients may not experience pain in varicocele. If there is reduction in sperm count or problem conceiving you should get the tests done as varicocele is the leading cause of infertility.
it is important to get a proper diagnosis done. Majority of varicocele cases are left untreated or with incorrect medication because they are not diagnosed correctly. Many times, a physician will do a visual inspection and mis diagnose a varicocele as a hydrocele, epididimytis or even a hernia. Thus an ultrasound is highly recommended as soon as possible.
Can a Varicocele Heal on its own?
No, it cannot. Varicocele is a lifestyle disease caused over a period of time due to various reasons. If left untreated, varicocele can increase and cause significant sperm count reduction. It is the leading cause of infertility in men. Although varicocele is not fatal in nature, it can cause immense pain and discomfort to the patient. It is best to undergo a natural treatment for varicocele as soon as it is diagnosed.
How is Varicocele caused?
The arterial and venous system bring and send blood to and from the scrotum. This blood has to be pure for the good production of sperm. Now, when the venous system fails to send back the blood due to a Varicocele, there is more impure blood in the testis and this is bad for the production of sperm. Thus, the sperm count reduces eventually causing infertility in the long term.
pH imbalance and irregular blood flow in the scrotum causes varicocele. This happens because of unhealthy lifestyle.
The veins are responsible for sending back blood to the heart so that it is purified. But for the blood to go to the heart, the blood has to travel upwards from the scrotal area. To make sure the blood travels in the upward direction, the veins have uni-directional valves. Now, modern lifestyle causes a lot of toxicity from the cells gets accumulated in the blood leading to imbalanced pH. This altered pH and toxins give rise to the formation of free radicals, that accumulate around those valves. This accumulation of free radicals and toxins around the valves leads to improper functioning and this causes an obstruction in the smooth blood flow. Because of this, blood starts accumulating in the veins. Eventually, the accumulated blood causes the vein to ‘varicose’ and forms Varicocele.
Varicocele in some cases is also known to be caused by Helicobacter Pylori. In this case, the bacteria can be detected in the sperm sample.
Varicocele Treatment Options
What’s the best treatment option for your Varicocele? When the scrotum becomes abnormally large because the blood isn’t flowing how it should, you might assume that your only choice to correct this serious issue is surgery. Varicocele can even prevent your sperm from being good swimmers, making you infertile – so it isn’t something you want to take lightly. There are other alternatives besides invasive, costly surgeries, though. You deserve to learn about these options before you go under the knife.
Your varicocele started from an underlying condition in the body caused by an imbalanced pH, which leads to poor blood flow. Stress, a poor diet, and a sedentary lifestyle also contribute to your Varicocele. These all lead to oxidative stress in the body and chronic inflammation.
The Traditional Method of Curing Varicocele
In modern medicine, someone who has a Varicocele will often be prescribed different medications that simply mask the symptoms of the problem. In a worse-case scenario, when the Varicocele doesn’t get better, a doctor will suggest surgery where you have to go under a general anaesthetic and spend several days in the hospital.
A surgeon will make a small incision in the abdomen close to where the testicles descend through the abdominal wall. Then he will cut the veins thought to produce the Varicocele to eliminate the blood flow and swelling.
This can be costly, time-consuming as you try to recover from the invasive surgery, and very painful. A typical surgery can cost anywhere from $10,000 to $12,000 (U.S.), and fertility treatments should the surgery be unsuccessful can cost upwards of $100,000!
What’s worse – surgery for Varicocele doesn’t stop the problem from returning.
Recurrence rates (when Varicocele comes back) are quite high, and cutting the veins doesn’t always cure the infertility problem. Sperm can also become lacklustre due to the very same root conditions which are causing the Varicocele – poor diet, stress, smoking, exposure to environmental toxins, inflammation, imbalanced pH, and lack of exercise – all contribute to poor sperm quality and low sperm count.
Yoga
Some people looking for alternative ways to reduce or stop their Varicocele look to the ancient practice of yoga.
Yoga helps primarily by decreasing stress, and helping to gently ease the flow of blood through areas it tends to stagnate. You can think of poses like Legs up the Wall (Viparit Karani) and Seated Hero’s Pose (Virasana) and Standing Forward Bend (Uttanasana), as methods to encourage overall heart and vascular health.
This healthier flow of nutrient rich blood can then help to reduce the incidence of Varicocele – however, if a proper diet and pH is not returned to the body, then the effects of these postures will be short-lived.

Surgery
Surgery often leads to a repeat of varicocele, if not other complications!
Sometimes doctors will say that certain disease like Varicocele are inherited. They’ll tell you that it has nothing to do with how you are living your life, and that it is just your tough luck to get the genes that indicate an illness which makes you infertile. No wonder men leave their doctor’s office feeling confused and hopeless.
Recurrence rates of several types of Varicocele, can be as high as 30%!
Doctors can’t even agree if the surgery is helpful or harmful!
There can also be some pretty serious complications, like:
- Permanent shrinking of the testicles
- Blood clots in the legs
- Infection at the surgery site
- Failure to remove pain
- The start of pain where there was none
- Continued infertility
- The return of Varicocele
The problem with surgery is the cost, along with the lack of success rate. Even if the varicocele surgery is successful, surgeries do not help restore the sperm count level. A fertility treatment is required after this over a long duration along with its heavy cost. Additionally, many varicocele cases relapse while on fertility treatment and they have to go through the whole process again.
Herbal Medicines
Another possible option to heal your Varicocele for good is to use Herbal Medicines.
ORONERV, ACIDIM & ACTIVIZ by Grocare have helped in Varicocele treatment without surgery without any side effects.
ORONERV is a herbal medicine that helps to restore the nervous and vascular systems in the body. ORONERV also strengthens the valves & the inner linings of the veins to smooth blood flow throughout the scrotum.
Acting as a catalyst to the healing process, ACTIVIZ synchronises the internal systems in such a way that they run harmoniously.
ACIDIM reduces the production of free radicals & toxins, thus reducing the pressure on valves. Thus, the valves start functioning normally and regular blood flow resumes. This varicocele treatment is equally effective for post-surgical complications. Acidim is the only researched based formulation on the market that helps balance the pH of the entire body seamlessly
As they address the root cause of the problem, chances of recurrence are minimized.

We recommend combining a healthy diet and exercise along with these herbal medicines for varicocele treatment.
Diet
Diet might be one of the best ways to support the restoration of healthy blood flow to your entire body, not just the reproductive organs.
Here’s how to eat a super-vitamin-packed, anti-inflammatory diet:
- Consume at least 25 grams of fibre every day. This helps to eliminate inflammation. Good sources are in fruits and vegetables, flax seed, and whole grains like barley or oats.
- Eat anti-inflammatory herbs like turmeric, ginger, and garlic.
- Consume lots of cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower mustard greens and Brussels sprouts.
- Eat foods high in Omega 3 fatty acids like avocados, wild caught salmon, and hemp seeds.
- Use olive oil but only heat it at a low temperature.
- Avoid processed foods, refined sugars and refined carbohydrates.
- Get rid of the trans-fats.
How Sleep Can Help
Your body literally takes out the trash that has accumulated in it overnight. When we don’t get enough sleep, the toxins that the body is trying to excrete from its ells have no choice but to hang out in our bowels, putting pressure on the abdomen and scrotum. Eventually the body has no choice but to reabsorb this toxic trash back into the blood stream. This contributes to high levels of acidity in the body as well as chronic inflammation – two underlying causing of your Varicocele.
Avoid Prescription Drugs
Another thing that contributes to Varicocele due to its underlying cause of inflammation, is pharmaceutical medications. Antibiotics, NSAIDS, and Antacids (both over-the-counter and prescribed) all harm your gut flora, which contribute to chronic inflammation.
Moreover, they do not help cure varicocele at all. They may be prescribed to help reduce the pain. But a primary line of treatment is absolutely required with this. Any allopathic medication for varicocele should not be prescribed for a long duration as it can have some serious side effects.
Chinese Medicine to Help Varicocele
Acupuncture and herbal remedies offered by Chinese Medicine can greatly contribute to reduced blood flow, but if the diet isn’t changed, and acidity is not addressed along with chronic inflammation, the acupuncture treatments will not provide long-term reversal of the Varicocele.
